Ummama Chathan is a Muslim chathan or Muslim god who lives in Vypin Village near Kochi, Kerala, India. Vypin is the biggest manmade Island in India.

Ummama is an Old muslim lady who lived in Vypin Padam. She likes God Chathan (The traditional god of Kerala ) and she worshipped Chathan with the nonvegetarian food of Kozhi Curry ( Chicken Curry) and Pathiri ( Kerala traditional food made with white rice and looks like dosa).

After many years of Chathan worship, she gets the ability to do so many amazing things. People believe God Chathan gave her supernatural power to do miraculous activities and practices with special Tantrik rituals.
Ummama was able to cure many diseases through pooja. All those who were possessed by ghosts and those with serious illnesses were cured through the prayers of a woman named Ummama. Ummama has been able to provide permanent solutions to the workers and those who are suffering. Everyone started looking at Ummama with awe. So one day Ummama succumbed to death.

But after Ummama’s death, she appeared in many houses and started scaring people. It is generally said that the worshipers of Chatan merge into the dead after death. Ummama Yakshi appeared and came to the houses of the people of that land and started creating problems. People were afraid to travel on the road in the night.
Many people were afraid of Ummama’s ghost and left the country. But some people thought of capturing the ghost of Ummama. Finally, the ghost of Ummama was invoked through Tantric method.

Over time, Ummama became Chatan and people started worshiping Ummama Chatan with chicken and patiri. Those who worshiped Ummama Chathan were blessed with wealth and get the protection from all enemies. Those who prayed to Chathan began to get rid of illnesses and get family prosperity. Eventually, Ummama Chathan became a god, feared and worshiped with devotion by the people of Kochi.
